Explore this historic port town, stroll the seafront, or opt to visit the famous pilgrimage city of Santiago de Compostela. On now to Portugal and Leixoes from where you may visit Oporto on the banks of the Duoro River. Famous for its Port wine, Oporto is the seat of centuries of Portuguese culture. Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, stands on the River Tegus, down which the great explorers once sailed. It presents some wonderful sights such as the Belem Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and the Statue of Christ the King. Marvel at the city's magnificent buildings or take a tram ride through the old Alfama district. Step ashore at the Asturian city of Aviles to explore the colourful streets of the old town and browse the colourful shops. An optional excursion will take you to Oviedo, capital of Asturias, with its elegant cathedral and 'sidrerias' bars serving the unique Asturian cider.
