The newly renovated 76-guest Wilderness Explorer is equipped for action, adventure, and exploration. As with our other "Wilderness" ships, its interior complements the outside and public and private spaces are loaded with amenities. The ship offers a main lounge featuring a Douglas fir bar top, dining room, and ample space on deck for taking in the great outdoors.
Three accessible decks are fully equipped for comfort and action. Guests enjoy over-the-top views from the bow or from under-the-stars in the hot tub (Alaska); on-deck sauna and fitness equipment; and the EZ Dock launch platform makes getting in the water a cinch, even for a novice. Onboard are kayaks; stand-up paddle boards; inflatable skiffs; hiking poles; yoga mats; hydrophone for listening below-surface; and a bow-mounted underwater camera pipes the action to the lounge and to your cabin TV.
Adventure Bound Hawaii
Gear up and come play on a Hawaiian Islands un-cruise adventure. Playful marine life and active adventure cap off your week of exploration and discovery in a playground of tropical waters, towering peaks, and submerged craters. In one of the richest marine environments in all of North America, balance your days with snorkeling, kayaking, exploring by skiff, stand-up paddle boarding, and relaxing on deck or in the lounge.
Day 1 Hawaii, the Big Island - Embarkation
Welcome to the Big Island! Embark the Wilderness Explorer in Kawaihae Harbor. Following an introduction to your crew and orientation, you'll get underway for a Hawaiian un-cruise sunset before dinner and anchoring for the evening.
Day 2 Opihihali / Honomalino Bay
Greet the day on the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii with safety and equipment orientations-then gear up and go play in Honomalino Bay. All the sports gear gets deployed for hours of up-close water exploration before you get underway for Opihihali with eyes on watch for dolphins and whales. As an unusual feeding frenzy this evening, you'll suit up for a night snorkel with harmless Giant Pacific Manta rays, one of the largest animals in the ocean. Back onboard, it'll be a contest to see who has the best Manta ray tale to tell. There's also an opportunity to go ashore for a taste of Kailua Town before calling it a night.
Day 3 Kailua-Kona
Hop on the skiff and venture into the historic town of Kailua for a local walking tour and exploring on your own. An optional excursion with Captain Zodiac, a specially-permitted operator, offers a snorkeling rendezvous in some of the best waters Hawaii has to offer for underwater riches. During cocktail hour, the Wilderness Explorer turns towards Maui, the Magic Isle.
Day 4 Maui / Molokini
It's Maui-so sand between your toes and enticing waters are yours to explore prior to a lunch time positioning to explore the remarkable undersea world of Molokini. At the quietest time of day, enjoy unparalleled snorkeling. Compare underwater notes as you sip your favorite beverage in the lounge and after dinner, explore the quaint and lively Lahaina.
Day 5 Humpback National Marine Sanctuary
Situated between the islands of Lana'i, Moloka'i, and Maui is a maritime tropical wonderland with front-row seats to the breeding grounds for humpbacks and other myriad marine wildlife. After lunch, you'll have a chance to maneuver your paddle board, throw your sail, don your snorkel, or dip a paddle from your kayak off the beckoning island of Lana'i. And if the stars align, cap off your evening with some night snorkeling.

The island's laidback culture and uncrowded spaces are on today's The island's laidback culture and uncrowded spaces are on today's off-the-beaten path agenda. Spend time sunning on the beach, exploring Lana'i City, or hiking with your Expedition Leaders and guides along Lana'i's rustic pine-lined Munro Trail. Learn about the modern day, but lost pineapple plantation era and the vastly different backdrop of a long ago untouched time.
Day 7 Ka'ena Point State Park / Wai'anae Harbor, Oahu
Offshore near Ka'ena Point State Park, kick off your morning with a slate of activities including stand-up paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking, and skiff tours. Relax on board over lunch before anchoring off of Wai'anae Harbor for an opportunity to go ashore for touring, hiking, or lose-your-cares beach time. Cap off you day after with the Captain's Farewell Dinner then retire to the lounge for a photographic recap of your week's Un-Cruise adventure.
Day 8 Honolulu - Disembark
Gather for your final breakfast with new friends before disembarking in Honolulu.
