Sea Cloud Cruises
Sea Cloud II
Sea Cloud II

10 Night Cruise sailing from Havana to Santo Domingo aboard Sea Cloud II.

In February 2001 the SEA CLOUD II turned fantasy into reality:
In the harbor of Las Palmas, godmother Sabine Christiansen broke a bottle of champagne across the bow of the gleaming white barque and proclaimed: "I christen you the 'SEA CLOUD II'".

Like no other ship, she combines the timeless elegance of windjammers of past with the highest safety standards and the luxurious comfort of modern cruise ships.

Sailing romantics will be fascinated while on board, where the 29,600 sq. feet of sails is set by hand..

What makes the SEA CLOUD II special is her unusual bounty and expanse for a sailing ship. You have almost limitless possibilities on the four decks to do exactly as your heart desires.

Highlights of this cruise:

Havana
Havana is the capital city of Cuba and one of the largest and most vibrant cities in the Caribbean. It boasts an old town area, a 19th-century district of densely packed, houses and narrow streets contrasting with the high-rise city center (Vedado). The sea wall, known as the Malecon, extends for 8km and is a popular walking spot. Havana's best beaches, the Playas del Este, are about 20km from the center.

Exploring la Habana Vieja is a must. The streets and alleys of this colonial-era city center have been perfectly restored. You can visit the plazas, churches, and forts here. The Calle Tacon market is great for souvenir shopping and a walk along the Malecon in the afternoon is a great way to finish the day. The Hotel Nacional is a good place to grab a cool drink and enjoy the setting sun from their "Compass Card" outdoor terrace.

Santiago
Santiago de Cuba is the capital city of Santiago de Cuba Province, in the south-eastern area of the island nation of Cuba, some 540 miles (870 km) east south-east of the Cuban capital of Havana.

Santiago is the most ethnically diverse city in Cuba, with a strong and vibrant Afro-Caribbean feel. This unique culture can best be seen in the annual Santiago carnival held in July each year. Other attractions include the many historical buildings around the central Parque Cespedes area. The elegant mansion of Diego Velazquez is now a museum of colonial Cuba, featuring many artifacts detailing the period when the island was a major part of Spain's New World empire.

Santo Domingo
Sprawling over two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola, which it shares with Haiti, is the delightful Dominican Republic. Its people are friendly and hospitable by nature; and it also happens to be one of the least expensive Caribbean destinations.

Santo Domingo is the capital city of the DR and the oldest continuously inhabited city in the northern hemisphere. Many visitors are drawn to its 16th-century Colonial Zone, its modern sophistication and Latin charm. The dazzling casinos, pulsating night life, superb dining, fashionable shopping and top class hotels are a contrast to the rich colonial past seen in the numerous museums and restored historic buildings.
