Fram

12 Night Cruise sailing from Reykjavik to Bergen aboard Fram.

Join us as we visit a diverse range of less visited islands. We depart Reykjavik and hope to make a landing at Vestmannaeyr. We will experience the wild beauty of the Isles of the Faroe, Orkney and Shetland, before exploring the Inner Hebrides. From there we head to Edinburgh before the voyage takes us across the North Sea to Bergen. A truly unforgettable voyage!

DAY 1 Reykjavik, Iceland

Reykjavik was first a Viking settlement and is today the modern capital of Iceland. The surroundings offer natural beauty including geysers, mountains, glaciers and the famous Blue Lagoon.

DAY 2 Heimaey, Vestmannaeyr, Iceland

If weather and sea conditions allow, we will visit Heimaey, the largest of the Westman Islands, which was one of Iceland's most important fishing ports. Magnificent bird cliffs dominate this stunning volcanic island.

DAY 3 At sea

Enjoy a relaxing day at sea with our onboard lectures whilst we set course to the Faroe Islands.

DAY 4 Torshavn, Faroe Islands, Denmark

The Faroe Islands are a group of 18 islands that lie in the middle of the North Atlantic. Torshavn is one of the smallest capitals in the world and might very well be the oldest capital in northern Europe.

DAY 5 Lerwick, Shetland Islands, UK

Lerwick is the main port of the Shetland Islands and is a bustling seaport.

DAY 6 Stornoway, Hebrides, UK

The Isle of Lewis is dominated by deep glens and fjords. Stornoway was originally a Viking settlement, and thrived due to its well-sheltered natural harbour.

DAY 7 Oban, Scotland, UK

Oban is known as "the gateway to the Highlands". It has a busy port, and a variety of shops and attractions. The fairly steep climb to the top of the hill is well worth the effort; on a clear day you will have magnificent views across the bay.

DAY 8 Iona and Staffa, Hebrides, UK

Iona is an island off the western coast of Scotland. It was a centre of Irish monasticism for four centuries and is today renowned for its tranquillity and natural beauty. Staffa is a site of scientific interest and well known for its basalt columns and sea caves.

DAY 9 Portree, Isle of Skye, UK

Portree is the largest town on the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides. Built around the natural harbour and fringed by hills, Portree offers a bustling port and a thriving cultural life. Attractions in town include a centre celebrating the Gaelic heritage.

DAY 10 Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, UK

Kirkwall is the largest town and the capital of the Orkney Islands, dominated by the famous St. Magnus Cathedral. The first mention of a settlement is in a saga from 1046. Kirkwall is one of the most attractive and well-preserved towns in Scotland.

DAY 11 Leith (Edinburgh), Scotland, UK

In Edinburgh the UNESCO World Heritage Site at the heart of the city combines the medieval Old Town, the Georgian New Town and award-winning modern architecture.

DAY 12 North Sea

Enjoy the comfort of MS Fram while we cross the North Sea and head towards Bergen. Our Expedition Team will give lectures about the history and biology of the area we are in.

DAY 13 Bergen, Norway

Our final stop, Bergen is Norway's second largest city and the cultural capital of Norway. The city is best known for its picture-postcard Bryggen district, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
