Enquire about cruises in this region

Portree is the capital and largest port town on the Isle of Skye, often referred to as Skye. Representing the largest of the Inner Hebrides, Skye is located off the west coast of Scotland. The main town of Portree lies above and behind the harbour. The main focus is Somerled Square, home to the war memorial. Much of the shopping is to be found in the roads leading from Somerled Square towards the harbour. Wentworth Street offers a range of interesting shops and King’s Haven is worth a visit.

Skye is particularly famous for its mountain scenery and wildlife. Dunvegan Castle and the Old Man of Storr are the most well known attractions on Skye. The Cuillin mountains are a popular spot for hiking, as is the Quiraing. There are many craft shops and cottage museums. Watersports are available on the island and it is also the ideal place for fishing and birdwatching. The Talisker Distillery at Carbost is worth a visit for Whisky drinkers.
