Highlights of this cruise:
Copenhagen
The Little Mermaid greets you at the harbor. At its center is Tivoli, whose gardens, lakes and fountains are said to have inspired Walt Disney.
Tallin
Wander cobblestone alleys beneath turrets and red-tiled roofs in medieval Old Town. Relax near the swan pond in Kadriorg Park. Visit the impressive museum in Baroque Kadriorg Palace.
St Petersburg
Glorious history and art, fanciful palaces, a rich imperial past all here in the city founded by Peter the Great.
Helsinki
If you've been to St. Petersburg and find yourself with a sense of dejà vu on a cruise to Helsinki, it's not your fault, since the city's neoclassical buildings often stood in for St. Petersburg in Hollywood films. The sensation won't last long, though -- Helsinki's identity and vision are sui generis. From its inauspicious origins in the mid-16th century, the city has come into its own with genius and bold humanity, winning kudos for having the world's best quality of life. Strewn across numerous islands along Finland's tasseled southern coast, Helsinki is a green metropolis, where architectural visions segue easily into prolific park spaces and ocean vistas.
Stockholm
Founded as a fortress in the 13th century, Stockholm spans 14 islands and is considered one of the world's most beautiful capitals.
Berlin
Don't miss the opportunity to tour into Berlin, which has visibly flourished since the fall of the Wall in 1989. The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Brandenburg Gate and "Checkpoint Charlie" are all here. In the Western sector, browse the lively Kurfurstendamm for snazzy clothing stores, delicate hand-painted porcelain and a snack of beer and bratwurst.
