Porto Vecchio, Corsica. FR
Porto-Vecchio is a town and commune of the Corse-du-Sud department, on the island of Corsica, in France. It is the third largest town on the island after Bastia and Ajaccio, and as well as being a seaside resort, offers mountainous landscapes and rivers and lakes to explore.
The beaches and coastline to the south of the town are the big attraction, these include Palombaggia, a beach internationally renowned for its beauty and Golfe de Santa Giulia. In Porto Vecchio itself, the marina area is very attractive, with plenty of cafes and restaurants overlooking the harbour, and the old town around the Place de la Republique has some lovely old buildings pressing in on narrow streets. The streets of the old town come to life with music and entertainment during summer evenings, a fine time to enjoy the town at its best.
