Magdalenefjord, Norway
Magdalenefjord is an 8 km long and up to 5 km wide fjord between Reuschhalvøya and Hoelhalvøya, Albert I Land, on the west coast of Spitsbergen, the largest island in the Svalbard archipelago. It is considered to be one of Svalbard's most beautiful fjords!
Magdalenefjord offers spectacular scenery: sharply-peaked mountains on all sides and several glaciers. The craggy, sharp-toothed Waggonway Glacier is a highlight, as is the golden sands of Gravneset; one of the largest cemeteries dating from the whaling period in the 1600's.
