10 Night Cruise sailing from Puerto Limon to Puerto Caldera aboard Sea Cloud II.
In February 2001 the SEA CLOUD II turned fantasy into reality:
In the harbor of Las Palmas, godmother Sabine Christiansen broke a bottle of champagne across the bow of the gleaming white barque and proclaimed: "I christen you the 'SEA CLOUD II'".
Like no other ship, she combines the timeless elegance of windjammers of past with the highest safety standards and the luxurious comfort of modern cruise ships.
Sailing romantics will be fascinated while on board, where the 29,600 sq. feet of sails is set by hand..
What makes the SEA CLOUD II special is her unusual bounty and expanse for a sailing ship. You have almost limitless possibilities on the four decks to do exactly as your heart desires.
Highlights of this cruise:
Puerto Limon
Puerto Limon has grown to become Costa Rica's premier port town located on the Caribbean coast south east of San Jose. The area boasts towering mountains, magnificent rain forests and sun-drenched beaches.
Limon is the host of one of Costa Rica's most famous carnivals called Dia de las Culturas. The festival's purpose is to celebrate Costa Rica's diverse culture but is a wild crazy Mardi Gras type party.
Isla de Coiba
Isla de Coiba is the largest island in Central America, located off the Pacific coast of the province of Veraguas, Panama. The island and 37 surrounding islands were declared a National Park in 1992. Unesco declared the entire Coiba National Park a "World Heritage Site" in July 2005.
Unlike most of the adjacent mainland, Jaguars, Ocelots and Margays still roam the island. It is one of the last places the Scarlet Maccaw can be found in the wild and is home to many endemic species, including the Coiba Howler Monkey. The waters adjacent to the island are teaming with marine life. It is surrounded by one of the largest coral reefs in the pacific coasts of the Americas.
Puerto Caldera
Puerto Caldera is situated in Esparza, in the northern region of Puntarenas province, Costa Rica. It sits near the mouth of the Golfo de Nicoya on the Central Pacific Coast. This tiny town is a key port for ships from all across the globe. Although Puerto Caldera is a small town, it is close to many popular tourist attractions.
