SeaDream Yacht Club
SeaDream II
SeaDream II

7 Night Cruise sailing from Iquitos roundtrip aboard Sea Dream II.

Let's face it! Some vacations at sea can be boring. But a holiday with SeaDream Yacht Club is something new. Unstructured! Unexpected! A casual, free-form holiday with plenty of room for personal choice.

We are not a cruise line. Quite simply, yachting is different from cruising. Yachting has an open casual ambience. Cruising does not. Yachting provides guests the ability to fulfill their dreams at their own pace without having to stick to a rigid fixed schedule. With yachting it's no clocks, no crowds, no lines, no stress.

Our twin mega yachts, SeaDream I and SeaDream II offer seven-day Caribbean and Mediterranean sailings. The elegant twins call at smaller yacht ports. There's lots of water sports activity. "Water Toys" including wave runners, kayaks, snorkel gear, Sunfish and Zodiacs for water skiing. If you feel lazy you can snooze on deck in private Balinese sun beds---designed for two. Fun under the sun or indoors. And dining with SeaDream is superb whether you are in our main Dining Salon or up on deck in our Topside Restaurant. In short, the SeaDream twins offer guests the ultimate in the elegant, but, oh so casual yachting lifestyle. An intimate, friendly, comfortable, romantic yachting experience where you can always expect the unexpected.

Highlights of this cruise:

Iquitos
Iquitos is the largest city in the Peruvian rainforest. It is the capital of Loreto Region and Maynas Province. Located on the Amazon River, it has long been a major port in the Amazon Basin. It is surrounded by three rivers: the Nanay, the Itaya and the Amazon.

The Main Square is the city's social and economic hub. It is very near the riverside called Tarapaca, its commercial center in the Prospero Street, and the traditional neighborhood of Belen with its floating houses on the river. Municipal Museum located in the Tavara Street block 2, is a small and modest museum with handmade native artworks.

Iquitos is an ideal place for lovers of the eco-tourism. From the city you can go to jungle lodges, parks and natural reservations, full of exotic flora and fauna.

Leticia
Leticia is a city in the Republic of Colombia, capital of the department of Amazonas, Colombia's southernmost town (4.09° south 69.57° west) and the only major port on the Amazon river. It has an elevation of 96 meters above sea level and an average temperature of 27 °C (80.6 °F). Leticia has long been Colombia's shipping point for tropical fishes for the aquarium trade. Leticia has approximately 33,000 inhabitants on the left bank of the Amazon river, and is located at the point where Colombia, Brazil and Peru come together in an area called Tres Fronteras.

Leticia Town A long standing border dispute involving Leticia, between Colombia and Peru, was decided in 1934 by the League of Nations after these two nations were engulfed in an armed conflict known as the Colombia-Peru War. This was the first instance of action by an international body using its powers covered by the Monroe Doctrine.

Tourism in Leticia has boomed and the town is today the second tourism destination for foreigners after Cartagena de Indias. International students travel to Leticia to learn Spanish at The Amazon Spanish College. Meanwhile students and visitors can enjoy the attractions nearby the city like Mundo Amazonico Ecological Park.

Leticia has plenty to do with blocks of shopping, plenty of local souvenirs to buy, a small museum, we will use a good local bar as our base. There are lots very friendly people - everyone likes Leticia. Some visitors to this region may have been apprehensive at first later they realisedthat Leticia is a super friendly place.

Panelas
PANELAS; Full name "Parana das Panelas". A Parana is a channel that leaves the river and eventually returns to it, like a large loop. So there are two entrances to this Parana das Panelas. The Expedition Team along with the Captain will position SeaDream adjacent to the downstream parana entrance. It's very narrow often just wide enough to get our zodiacs along. We have scheduled zodiac safaris along the parana through very high grasses which sometimes have to be pushed aside to pass, eventually the pathway gets to wider areas and options of channels to turn into. A small settlement with a local school will be found 4 miles up the creek, heralded by the very tall Brazilian Nut trees at the settlement. This area is noted for sloths, monkeys, tamandua anteaters sleeping in the trees as well as multiple species of birds.

SeaDream Yacht Club has arranged for a team of local experts including, naturalists, a botanist, a historian as well as an Expedition Leader. This "Expedition Team" will be leading complimentary zodiac safaris, village walks as well as Jungle Treks in the Upper Amazon. They will also give daily lectures and presentations to gear you up for the next day's excitement. In the Lower Amazon we have our classical Yachting Land Adventures with a user pay system like our other SeaDream Voyages.

Jutai
FOZ DO JUTAI; This is the name of the Amazonian village at the mouth of the Rio Jutai where it meets the Amazon. Foz means "mouth of". In good light this confluence also has a meeting of the waters color contrast similar to the famous wedding of the waters.

Jutai is a very pleasant small town to visit of approximately 15,000 inhabitants. It has some charming little supermarkets and even some interesting comercial buildings. Guests enjoy walking the town in 1-1½ hrs. Jutai is a good place to buy locally made hammocks (they may even give a demonstration on board your SeaDream yacht) otherwise, they will have a floating shop at the pier landing before climbing up to town.
