Costa Pacifica
Costa Pacifica

16 Night Cruise sailing from Kiel to Hamburg aboard Costa Pacifica.

In tune with the sea: Costa Pacifica is born
Imagine the most thrilling music of all times and transfer it to a ship that encapsulates all that is best in Costa cruising. The result is Costa Pacifica, a combination of wonderful music and supreme elegance. The music, played and listened to in every public area on board, has inspired the ship's design, each area characterised by a different type of music. The secret of Costa Pacifica is simple: a unique compilation of the best offered by our four earlier ships: Serena, Concordia, Magica and Fortuna.

Highlights of this cruise:

Kiel
The capital of Schleswig-Holstein is a distinctive city known for its maritime and naval tradition. As a result of the city's interesting peninsular formation, all roads lead to the town centre.

Reykjavik
Reykjavik, with its small, orderly and very clean centre, is a true jewel. The city's name means "bay of steam" because of the abundance of hot geothermic water under the soil. The city uses extremely clean, environmentally friendly energy. This is why it holds the title of most ecologically developed capital in the world.

Isafjord
Isafjordur is the most important town on the extreme northwestern tip of Iceland, the capital of the western fjords and the only real city in the whole region. Its fjord has two valleys, Tungudalur and Engidalur, and is surrounded by high, steep mountains. Mount Eyrarfjall (724m) rises almost vertically from the group of brightly coloured houses built around the Eyri, the strip of sand at the mouth of the fjord.

Akureyri
A land of ice, glaciers and spontaneous and explosive energy from a subsoil that creates very strong contrasts. A natural, unspoilt paradise, with strong and sincere feelings, just like its people. The majority of Akureyri's inhabitants work in the traditional trades of agriculture and fishing, or others in small, strictly environmentally friendly industries.

Ny Alesund
Ny Alesund is one of the most important towns in the Svalbard islands, an archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. This is also the point in 1925 from which Roald Amudsen set off on a journey to the North Pole on a flying boat. North of Ny Alesund is the seven-mile long Magdalenenfjord, surrounded by magnificent glaciers.

Longyearbyen
Longyerbyen is one of the most important towns on Svalbard islands, an archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. The city of Longyearbyen is the administrative centre of the islands, where the governor ("Sysselmann") lives and where the mining company Store Norske Sptizsbergen Kulkumpani has its headquarters.

Hammerfest
Welcome to the northernmost town in the world, the last outpost of civilisation before the pack ice of the North Pole. Hammerfest has 10,000 inhabitants and a wild natural landscape. It is one of the few cities in the world that has almost no impact on the environment. Everything is recycled and utilised so that nothing is wasted and the environment is respected.

Hamburg
In terms of population Hamburg is Germany's second largest city after Berlin and is also the country's most important port area. With plenty of vast green open spaces and some fascinating architecture, it is a city waiting to be discovered.
