Highlights of this cruise:

Tilbury
Tilbury is located on the north bank of the River Thames, in the borough of Thurrock in England, at the point where the river suddenly narrows to about 740 metres in width. Tilbury is a modern town, which is home to one of Europe's largest container ports, together with a international cruise terminal.

To the west of Tilbury is the popular Lakeside shopping complex, and the Queen Elizabeth II bridge, the longest cable-stayed bridge in Europe. To the East is St. Catherine's Church which is possibly on the site of one of the first Christian monasteries developed in the 7th C. Henry VIII built riverside block houses at East and West Tilbury, these later becoming Coalhouse and Tilbury Forts.

Invergordon
Invergordon is a small port town in the northeast highlands of Scotland, situated on the shores of the Cromarty Firth, approximately 70 km's north of Inverness. The town itself has developed into a major port of call for cruise liners, thanks to its sheltered deep water and excellent on shore facilities. It serves as a central point for visitors who go on to visit places to the north and south.

Invergordon is a modern well laid out town, with a double width high street and has many shops, places to visit and things to do. There is an art centre, leisure centre, go-karting, and golf. You can also visit the naval museum and the heritage centre. Popular shore excursions include visits to Loch Ness, nearby castles and distilleries.

Dublin
Dublin is the capital and largest city in Ireland, near the midpoint of Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey and at the centre of the Dublin Region. Founded as a centre of Viking settlement, the city has been Ireland's capital since mediæval times.

Dublin is a vibrant city known for its nightlife and tourist attractions. It is the third most visited capital city in Europe (after Paris and London) with over four million visitors a year.

St Peter Port
St Peter Port is the capital of Guernsey and has been described as the Channel Island's most beautiful town. It is located in the Channel Islands southeast of the English Channel. Guernsey is a lush garden of flowers and vegetables, with about 300 miles of roads and lanes. The island has retained its natural beauty and the coastline has remained unspoilt. Dotted around the island you will see occasional crumbling ruins, and herds of the golden Guernsey cows.

St. Peter Port is an elegant and charming little town with lines of Regency and Victorian buildings and numerous cobbled streets. Steep stairways and alleyways weave their way up and down between houses and there is a mass of boats in its harbour.

Shopping in St Peter Port is an unmissable experience. Electronic and photographic equipment, jewellery and perfume are all good, low duty buys, along with wines, spirits and tobacco and of course the famous Guernsey jumper. Small boutiques offer exclusive clothes, shoes and leather goods, whilst the Old Quarter is the place to find antiques.

Reykjavik
Located in the North Atlantic Ocean, directly east of Greenland, Iceland is Europe's westernmost country and the second largest island in the North-Atlantic ocean. Its capital, Reykjavik holds practically half of Iceland's entire population, perhaps not surprising considering how little of the country is actually habitable. As such it is the country's unrivalled cultural and economic centre surrounded by a vast wilderness of mountains and glaciers.

The city's highlights are mostly found in central Reykjavik: lining Old Town and Lake Tjornin are attractive tin houses, some of the more historical buildings, and many of its restaurants and nighttime hotspots. Its nightlife is legendary, with all-night street parties in summer and a huge club scene year-round. The nearby surrounding wilderness offers walking trails at Videy Island or the lava area at Heidmork, is definitely worth a visit. At "Smoky Bay" you can see geothermal steam rising from the ground. Harnessed to heat the city, these smoke signals can be seen along with any number of natural wonders, half an hour out of town.

Torshavn
Torshavn is the capital of the Faroe Islands. It is located in the southern part on the east coast of Streymoy, Denmark. To the north west of the town lies the 347-metre (1,140 ft) high mountain Husareyn, and to the southwest, the 350-metre (1,100 ft) high Kirkjubrreyn.

The town is a charming blend of old and new. In the area around the harbour lies Tinganes where the 'old town' of Torshavn is located. The small colorful houses are an attraction in the town, as is Skansin, an old fortress built over the harbour. Five minutes walk from the harbour is the city-centre Vaglið. Here is also Lrgtingið, the Faeroese parliament. Nearby are shops, restaurants, hotels and a cinema.

Eidfjord itself offers glaciers, high mountain plateau, rivers and waterfalls - and of course the breath taking fjord landscapes. In addition there are attractions such as galleries, churches and one of the most modern nature and cultural-historical experience centres in Norway: Hardangervidda Nature Centre Eidfjord.

Among the main attractions accessible from Eidfjord are the Vøringfossen waterfall, the Sima Power Station (one of Europe's largest hydropower stations) and the Hardangerjøkulen Glacier.

Bergen
Bergen is located on the south-western coast of Norway, in the county of Hordaland, in between a group of mountains known as De syv fjell ("the Seven Mountains"). It is recognized as the unofficial capital of the region known as West Norway, and also recognized and marketed as the gateway city to the world famous fjords of Norway.

The oldest part of the city is on the north side of the bay of Vľgen. Here you find Bryggen, a number of old, wooden houses dating from the early 18th century.

A popular tourist attraction is the open air fishmarket on the harbour. Further down you find the main shopping area, rebuilt after a fire in 1916 in art nouveau and functionalism, around the main square Torgalmenningen. Several old quarters of white, wooden houses surround the centre, notably Nordnes, Marken and Sandviken.

Visitors should not miss the ride with the funicular up to Mount Flryen, where one is rewarded with a splendid view over the city and the fabled seven mountains.

Copenhagen
From the grandeur of the Amalienborg Palace to the non-stop fun of Tivoli Gardens; from the superb shopping along the Strrget to the magnificent art treasures in the city museums, Denmark's capital really does have it all. Den Lille Havfrue - the Little Mermaid and Hamlet's Castle at Elsinore are added bonuses.

Helsinki
The Finnish capital typifies the country's reputation for the best in modern design and architecture. Splendid buildings old and new are shown to their best effect in an uncrowded setting of parks and woodlands. You can't miss the spectacular onion-domed Uspensky Cathedral which dominates the harbour.

St Petersburg
Russia's glorious second city and even our long stay here is barely sufficient to view even a proportion of the wonderful sights that this real Baltic Treasure has to offer. The Hermitage, and its outstanding art collection, the Peter & Paul Fortress, St Isaac's Cathedral, the battleship Aurora, whose guns signalled the start of the 1917 revolution, all vie for your attention in this city on the banks of the Neva River. A full programme of excursions, including evening options to the ballet or a folklore show, is operated here to help you make the most of your precious time.

Tallinn
A very attractive Baltic capital city, that is renowned for its friendliness and the welcome it provides for visitors. Estonia is now a modern forward thinking country but with a great pride in its history. Tallinn has a well-preserved medieval quarter, impressive fortified city walls and it is a delight to visit the quaintly named Long Leg Street or Tall Hermann, a 14th century watchtower.

Stockholm
The 700-year old capital of Sweden is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is spread over 14 islands, connected by some 50 bridges. Wander around the enchanting medieval Gamla Stan, the original old town; visit the fascinating Wasa Museum, housing the world's oldest identified ship or just enjoy the fine restaurants and elegant shops of the Strandvagen.
