Highlights of this cruise:

Hamburg
Hamburg is Germany's second-largest city after Berlin and one of the country's key hubs for media and industry. The second-largest port in all of Europe, Hamburg is the ninth largest port city in the world. But don't be put off by these 'seconds'; Hamburg is at the front line of energy and dynamism.

Akureyri
A starkly beautiful Icelandic city, 60 miles from the Arctic Circle, it is, nevertheless, rich in culture, shops and sophistication

Reykjavik
Located in the North Atlantic Ocean, directly east of Greenland, Iceland is Europe's westernmost country and the second largest island in the North-Atlantic ocean. Its capital, Reykjavik holds practically half of Iceland's entire population, perhaps not surprising considering how little of the country is actually habitable. As such it is the country's unrivalled cultural and economic centre surrounded by a vast wilderness of mountains and glaciers.

The city's highlights are mostly found in central Reykjavik: lining Old Town and Lake Tjornin are attractive tin houses, some of the more historical buildings, and many of its restaurants and nighttime hotspots. Its nightlife is legendary, with all-night street parties in summer and a huge club scene year-round. The nearby surrounding wilderness offers walking trails at Videy Island or the lava area at Heidmork, is definitely worth a visit. At "Smoky Bay" you can see geothermal steam rising from the ground. Harnessed to heat the city, these smoke signals can be seen along with any number of natural wonders, half an hour out of town.

Tromso
Tromso is a city and municipality in Troms county, Norway. Most of Tromsr, including the city centre, is located on the small island of Tromsrya in the county of Troms, 350 kilometres (217 mi) inside the arctic circle. The island is connected to the mainland by the Tromsr Bridge and the Tromsrysund Tunnel, and to the island of Kvalrya by the Sandnessund Bridge.

The city centre of Tromsr contains the highest number of old wooden houses in North Norway, the oldest house dating from 1789. The Arctic Cathedral, a modern church from 1965, is probably the most famous landmark in Tromsr. The city is a cultural centre for its region, several festivals taking place in the summer.

Hellesylt
Hellesylt is a small village located in the Stranda muncipality of Norway; a part of the Mrre and Romsdal County in the western part of Norway. It lies at the head of the Sunnylvsfjord, which is a branch of the Storfjord (Great Fjord), and which the more famous Geirangerfjord in turn, branches off nearby.

The village on the mountain sides at the end of the Sunnylvsfkprd is exceptionally picturesque. The Hellesylt waterfall gushes right through the centre of the town into the Fiord. This waterfall is one of the most photographed sites in Norway.

The shopping facilities in Hellesylt are good for its size, with two supermarkets, a snack bar, a cafe, and a gas station. The local hotel has a cafe, pub, restaurant and occasional disco with live-music.

Geiranger
Geiranger is a small tourist town in the western part of Norway in the region called Sunnmrre in the municipality of Stranda. It lies at the head of the Geirangerfjord, which is a branch of the Storfjord. The nearest city is Ĺlesund. Geiranger is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, and has been described as the best travel destination in Scandinavia. In 2005, the Geirangerfjord was listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Impressive waterfalls gush down almost vertical mountainsides, among them the famous falls, De syv srstrene (the Seven Sisters), Friaren (the Suitor) and Brudeslrret (the Bridal Veil).

Other attractions include the Trollstigen mountain road, the Gudbrandsjuvet Gorge and Geiranger Fjordsenter With exhibits about the history, the colourful people and the fabulous natural scenery of the area.

Amsterdam
Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands is built around a concentric network of canals spanned by over 1000 bridges. One of the most attractive ways of viewing the city is on a canal tour. Many of the houses date back to The Netherlands' golden age in the 17th century. These narrow-fronted merchants' houses are characterised by the traditionally Dutch ornamented gables. The oldest part of the city is Nieuwmarkt, located near the first canals - Herengracht, Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht - built to protect the city against invasion.

Amsterdam is famous for its liberalism regards soft drugs and its thriving sex industry. The city has also long been a centre of diamond cutting and it is still possible to see diamond cutters at work. Boasting 53 museums, 61 art galleries, 12 concert halls and 20 theatres, Amsterdam also has a booming cultural life.
