3 Night Whitsunday Cruise:
Tuesday - Departure at 10am from Abel Point Marina in Airlie Beach.
DescaradA heads for Australia's landmark beach Whitehaven. Morningtea is served enroute as you sit back and enjoy this mountainous and ancient area. Cruising through Hook Passage located between the Whitsunday and Hook islands, you
get your first real impression of these magnificent sceneries.
At anchor off Whitehaven Beach you can explore Hill Inlet and its surroundings in the high speed tender or even take a walk to the nature. Relaxing on this amazing white silica sand beach with a glass of champagne is to the liking of some - or maybe playing on the kayaks and jet skis. Lunch will be served on the vessel or picnic style depending on the activities of the afternoon. Seaplane or helicopter tours can be arranged for those wishing to view the islands and Great Barrier Reef by air. Prior notice and an extra charge is required - the scenic flight is highly recommended. Afternoon tea and your first delicious three
course dinner are served amongst the program before you settle into the comfort of your private cabin for a good night sleep.
Wednesday - Breakfast and that mandatory fresh coffee are ready upon rising from your room in the morning.
From Whitehaven Beach we head to Manta Ray Bay on the northeast side of Hook Island. This small bay has some of the most spectacular snorkelling and diving in the area. It is named for the beautiful manta rays often spotted flying slowly through the water, wings outstretched, with the wingtips just gracing the surface. The coral here is visually stunning and easily accessed by divers and snorkelers of any age and experience.
Lunch and afternoon tea are served as the day advances. In the afternoon DescaradA heads to Blue Pearl Bay on the north western tip of Hayman Island where you can just lay back and relax or go explore the sea by kayak and swimming. After the day's water activities it is time to enjoy a marvellous dinner as the sun sets over the Australian mainland.
Thursday - After breakfast you are able to explore the beautiful Blue Pearl Bay underwater with amazing coral and other sea life. You can commonly see all kinds of parrot fish, butterfly fish, fox face rabbit fish, coral trout and many others.
Departing the area, we pass Hayman Island Resort and have a quick stop at Langford Island, known for its long sand spit that exposes as the tide drops. The coral sand beach and vegetation gives this island the feeling of both a continental island and a true coral cay.
After lunch, we motor south down the western side of Hook Island, pass Stonehaven and toward our night stop at Nara Inlet. You can take little walk to explore ancient aboriginal caves, kayak along the inlet or just admire the stunning views. At the end of the day it is lovely
getting together for one more great dinner.
The night is spent in the tranquil sounds of the surrounding nature.
Friday - Departing directly after breakfast you can relax as we return to Abel Point Marina in Airlie Beach by 10am.
