Highlights of this cruise:

Portsmouth
Portsmouth is a city steeped in history with an impressive cast of characters from maritime heroes to literary giants. From its humble beginnings as a Saxon fishing village, Portsmouth developed into a military garrison town and then into the home of one of the most powerful sea-borne fighting forces in history. 2005 will see the opening of a new, contemporary, national icon based on the south coast, providing a unique 'window on the sea'

At the heart of the city is Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Here you can explore Lord Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory and tour Queen Victoria's battleship, HMS Warrior 1860. You can see Henry Vlll's Mary Rose and trace the history of the Royal Navy at the Royal Naval Museum. Then come right up to date with "Action Stations" an interactive attraction on today's navy.

Other attractions include Charles Dickens' birthplace, the D-Day Museum featuring the Overlord Embroidery, Southsea Castle, the Royal Marines Museum, and Portsmouth Cathedral.

Southsea, Portsmouth's own resort area offers four miles of beach and promenade, including gardens and piers. You can take an undersea safari at the Blue Reef Aquarium or splash around at the Pyramids with their fun pools, flumes and waves.

At the harbour entrance lies Gunwharf Quays, a world-class waterfront shopping and leisure development. Spinnaker Tower is also situated here. This is a striking new attraction soaring 170m into the air and offering spectacular views over the south coast.

If you want to shop then Portsmouth City Centre and Southsea offer an excellent selection of shops from high street names to independent retailers.

Tromso
Tromso is a city and municipality in Troms county, Norway. Most of Tromsr, including the city centre, is located on the small island of Tromsrya in the county of Troms, 350 kilometres (217 mi) inside the arctic circle. The island is connected to the mainland by the Tromsr Bridge and the Tromsrysund Tunnel, and to the island of Kvalrya by the Sandnessund Bridge.

The city centre of Tromsr contains the highest number of old wooden houses in North Norway, the oldest house dating from 1789. The Arctic Cathedral, a modern church from 1965, is probably the most famous landmark in Tromsr. The city is a cultural centre for its region, several festivals taking place in the summer.

Alta
Alta is a municipality and town in the county of Finnmark, Norway. Known as the 'Town of the Northern Lights', it is situated in the west of the county, mostly situated along the Altafjord, with large areas of woodlands, as well as parts of the High Plateau of Finnmarksvidda. Most people live in the town of Alta, stretching along the inner part of the fjord.

A feature of the area are the Rock carvings at Alta, dating from circa 4200 BC to 500 BC, which are on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Other attractions in Alta include Alta Museum, Northern Light Igloo, a hotel made in ice, the Northern Lights Observatory called Haldde at Mt. Sukkertoppen, and Sautso - Alta Canyon.

Alta also offers a range of activities and events both summer and winter. It is an excellent starting point not only for excursions to attractions and activities around Alta, but to Kautokeino, Hammerfest, the North Cape and Karasjok as well. Each year in March, the week long Borealis Winterfestival takes place. Other events are the traditional Bossekop Market and the Finnmark College's Students Event Week.
