Dining
A professional cook is in charge of all the cooking during the trip. We carry ample quantities of fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, grains and dairy products for the duration of the voyage. Meals are served buffet style. We are confident that you will be very impressed with the variety and excellence of the meals that are prepared for you. Complimentary wines are served with dinner. There is no bar onboard to purchase additional drinks. Guests are responsible and welcome to bring their own cocktail, beer and soft drinks.
Kids Programs
Families
We will consider taking children. It depends on the age and the maturity level of the child. Parents /guardians are solely responsible for their children while on board. Some of our trips are not open to children. We have a limited amount of spaces. A child takes up a whole space and pays full price.
School Groups
Every spring Bluewater Adventures takes over three hundred junior and senior high school kids on marine biology and sail-training programs around British Columbia's beautiful Gulf Islands.
We promote active participation in all areas by students and supervisors. Students assume leadership, practice group problem solving, communication skills and take responsibility for specific tasks on board
By bringing students in direct contact with the marine environment, they develop an appreciation for ecosystems, and our society's inter-connectedness with nature.
Our schedule, which is usually 3 to 5 days, is intentionally flexible to allow for whale, porpoise or other wildlife sightings. Our sailing vessels are the Island Roamer and the Island Odyssey, two identical 68-foot sailing ketches, which are Ministry of Transport Ship Safety approved. We can accommodate school groups of up to 34 students, plus teachers, in private cabins using both boats flotilla-style.
Tipping
If you feel that the crew have made your trip special and wish to show your appreciation a tip is very much appreciated. How much? 5-10% ?
